The number of Ukrainian refugees in Europe has reached almost 8 million – UN

More than half of Ukrainians returned to Ukraine - 9.1 million out of 17 million refugees

The number of Ukrainian refugees in Europe due to the full-scale invasion of Russia reached 7,915,287 people.

This was reported by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Ukrinform reports. According to the report, in total, since February 24, more than 17 million people left Ukraine for European countries, and more than 9.1 million people have returned to Ukraine so far.

It is noted that the majority of Ukrainians crossed the Polish border – 8.6 million, of which 1.5 million were officially registered in the country, and 6.5 million have already returned to Ukraine.

739,000 Ukrainians went to Moldova, 371,000 of them returned to the Motherland. More than 1 million Ukrainians went to Slovakia, of which 807,200 have already returned, 1.7 million to Romania (1.4 million returned), 2 million to Hungary.
