The NYT claims that the Armed Forces attacked a base in Crimea with Ukrainian missiles

The day before, an attack was made on the base of the Russian Air Force in Novofedorivka. It follows from the material of The New York Times that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could have used Ukrainian weapons to attack the Crimean base.

A high-ranking military official from Ukraine informed American journalists that the attack on the military airfield was carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The NYT interlocutor refused to name the type of weapon that was used for this. At the same time, he noted that the VKS base was attacked with Ukrainian-made weapons.

Rocket for OTRK ‘Thunder’ The NYT article emphasizes that the only Ukrainian weapon capable of hitting targets at such a distance is the VTRK ‘Thunder’. The range of the tactical missile is about 500 km. The launcher was made in a single copy. The weight of the warhead of the ballistic projectile is 480 kg. The Ukrainian authorities have not announced anything about the completion of this development.

Another version envisages the use of Neptune anti-ship missiles for a missile attack on an airfield in Crimea. Experts believe that Ukrainian engineers could have redesigned the projectiles for hitting ground targets, as the Russians did with the S-300.
