The Oscar-winning film 20 Days in Mariupol will soon be available on Netflix
The Oscar-winning documentary 20 Days in Mariupol will be available for viewing on Netflix.
The platform’s website states that the movie will be available for viewing starting March 21.
“A group of Ukrainian journalists document the horrific realities of war, stranded in the coastal city of Mariupol after the invasion of Russian troops in early 2022,” the website says.
What is the movie “20 Days in Mariupol” about?
The documentary tells the story of the first weeks of fighting in Mariupol during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
This is the first film in the history of Ukraine to win the most prestigious film award, the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature. The film was directed by Mstyslav Chernov, photographed by Yevhen Malolietka, and produced by Vasylisa Stepanenko. The film was created in cooperation with the Associated Press and Frontline.

In addition to Netflix, the movie is available for viewing online and on Ukrainian platforms. In particular, on services:
- “Kyivstar TV. You can rent the movie for 39 UAH (SD) or 49 UAH (HD), or purchase it permanently for 69 UAH and 99 UAH, respectively.
- Megogo. You need to pay 55 UAH for SD and 79 UAH for Full HD.
- Sweet.TV. 69 UAH for SD and 99 UAH for Full HD.
- Takflix. The cost of viewing is UAH 95. 10% of each ticket will be donated to the Come Back Alive Foundation, and 50% to the filmmakers.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian team’s award for 20 Days in Mariupol was initially not included in the international version of the film award. However, after Ukraine’s outrage, the broadcaster changed its mind.
