The Pentagon refutes another lie by the Russian Ministry of Defense about downed ATACMS

White House adviser John Kirby denies Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu’s claims that Russians have hit ATACMS missiles
A representative of the US administration said this on Tuesday during a telephone briefing, Ukrinform reports.

“No, I can’t confirm reports that any of them (ATACMS missiles – ed.) were shot down,” the White House spokesman said in response to a request to comment on the Russian statements.

Kirby also did not specify how many long-range missiles of this type the United States has transferred to Ukraine. “I can simply say that it was a significant number,” he said.

On the night of April 30, several military facilities in Crimea were attacked. The Russian Defense Ministry and the governor of Crimea, Aksyonov, claimed that the strike was carried out with ATACMS missiles, which were reportedly received the day before. Shoigu said that six missiles were shot down.
