Baykar Tech engineers have successfully completed the next stage of tests of the first unmanned Kizilelma fighter in the history of Turkey. Now they are busy preparing the aircraft for the first flight. Seljuk Bayraktar told CNN Turk journalists about this.
The technical director of Baykar Tech emphasized that the test Kizilelma passed was a ground test. The company’s specialists are literally counting the days until the first flight of an unmanned fighter. The Kizilelma project has reached its final stage. The first test flight of the drone is scheduled for 2023.
Bayraktar emphasized that Kizilelma will work in tandem with sea-based Bayraktar TB3 SIHA copters. They will be placed on warships. The top manager expressed his belief that these aircraft will be able to make a small revolution in the history of military operations.
Kizilelma will be equipped with Ukrainian jet engines. Baykar Tech intends to produce unmanned fighter jets in our country. The drone can reach a speed of up to 800 km/h. The carrying capacity of the aircraft is 1,500 kg. Unmanned control will enable the fighter to perform complex combat tasks without any risk to the life of the pilot.
