The Russians are running out of electronics needed for weapons production

The Russian military-industrial complex is experiencing a shortage of microelectronics, which is critical for the production of weapons. Western countries closed technologically backward Russia’s access to the component base. This was stated by Wally Adeyemo, who holds the post of Deputy Chairman of the US Treasury.

The official emphasized that after the introduction of sanctions, the Russian Federation lost access to advanced technologies. Because of this, the capabilities of the occupying defense industry in the production of modern weapons are extremely limited. The Russian army lost many weapons in Ukraine. Replace it with nothing. This fact explains the Kremlin’s decision to restore the Soviet T-62 tanks removed from conservation.

Adeemo noted that the lack of access to electronics critical for the production of weapons greatly worries Russian officials. Defense and military enterprises operating in the Russian Federation are in dire need of foreign components. According to the deputy head of the US Treasury, official Washington is ready to impose economic restrictions on countries that support the Russian military industry.
