The Ukrainian Armed Forces received Swedish Javelins RBS-56 BILL

As it turned out, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are armed with RBS-56 BILL. The Ukrainian military calls them Swedish Javelins. The fact is that they work on the same principle as Javelin ATGMs. Simply put, a missile launched from the RBS-56 BILL hits the target from above.

The RBS-56 BILL was designed by Saab Bofors Dynamics engineers. It is designed to engage protected moving targets. The Swedish Javelins were delivered to Ukraine as part of international military support in April.

The system includes a tripod, an anti-tank missile container and a sighting unit. Its weight is 45.8 kg. The RBS-56 BILL boasts day and infrared night sights.

The modernized BILL 2 missile is equipped with a tandem warhead, which allows it to overcome dynamic defenses. It has three firing modes. Thanks to this, the missile can be used not only to destroy armored vehicles. It is suitable for striking targets in shelters such as machine gun emplacements. The range of the anti-tank missile is 2.2 km. It covers this distance in 13 seconds. Swedish ATGMs are quite effective. In June, five enemy targets were hit with their help.
