The Ukrainian Armed Forces received the latest drone from Germany for the first time

Last year, the German-made LUNA NG drone made its debut at Eurosatory. Recently it became known that the German government decided to include it in the next defense support package. The Ukrainian army received an improved version of the LUNA drone for the first time.

The aircraft complex was developed by Rheinmetall. It was he who brought it to the Eurosatory exhibition event. Apparently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces received a single system consisting of a catapult, a control station, trucks and UAVs in an unknown quantity.

The fact that the German government intends to transfer the LUNA NG drone to the Ukrainian army first became known in late summer this year. A reconnaissance UAV can stay in the air for up to 12 hours. The drone’s control range exceeds 100 km. The aircraft weighs 40 kg.

In addition to the LUNA NG, the defense support package includes Vector drones (10 units), border guard vehicles (6 units), Zetros trucks (8 units), first aid kits (100,000 units), grenade launchers (70 units) and artillery shells (250 units).
