The Ukrainian Armed Forces will be the first in the world to become an operator of the Caracal airborne remote sensing system

In the coming months, the German concern Rheinmetall will provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with five Caracal airborne assault vehicles. They are not yet mass-produced in Germany. Thus, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will become the world’s first operator of Caracal’s DSM.

The car was presented at the DSEI exhibition in London this year. The German concern developed it together with Armed Car Systems and Mercedes-Benz. The joint venture founded by the partners has already signed contracts with the Netherlands and Germany for the supply of 3,058 Caracal units.

The CMM is characterized by high mobility. It has a lightweight design. If necessary, the machine can be equipped with auxiliary protection against landmines and ballistic mines. The vehicle was equipped with mounts for installing ATGM and infantry weapons. It can be used for a wide range of tasks.
