The Ukrainian company Delfast presented a new model of California electric bike
It has a range of 160 kilometers and can reach speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour.
The Ukrainian company Delfast, which has its main sales market in the USA, presented a new model of electric bike – California. It has a 750-watt motor and can be fully charged in four hours. On one charge, you can drive up to 160 kilometers if you move at a speed of about 30 kilometers per hour, the developers write.
According to Daniil Tonkopia, one of the co-owners of Delfast, ‘we built a new bike in record time – in just 6 months. We developed the bike literally during the war, we made it simultaneously in Ukraine and in California: in Chernivtsi we made the frame, in Dnipro we created the electronics, in Kyiv we developed the software, and in Los Angeles we assembled the entire bike.
‘We put all our energy, experience, professionalism, passion and love for bikes into the product. We believe that this is definitely the best e-bike on the market.’
Before developing the new model, Delfast surveyed more than 50,000 e-bike users about their dream e-bike. Then we gathered all their wishes into one ‘ideal electric bike’ and got that it should be like this:
- range – up to 150 km on one battery charge
- decent speed, up to 45 km/h (in EU countries – up to 25 km/h)
- powerful engine (preferably located in the middle)
- powerful battery from the manufacturer, the market leader
- the battery should be replaceable so you can take it home and charge it at home
- affordable price
- weight no more than 30 kg
- must have rear racks, basket for bags or for pets
- front and rear lights
- GPS sensor and navigation system
- anti-theft system, alarm, immobilizer, tracker
- mobile app for iOS and Android
- phone holder with wireless charging
- the frame is comfortable for both men and women
Based on these and other wishes, Delfast engineers and designers began to develop a new model. All the wishes of the owners are taken into account in the Delfast California electric bike.
For example, the on-board computer of an electric bike works with the help of a special program, which is supported by an application on a smartphone. Therefore, this bike does not require a key – you can unlock it with your own smartphone. In addition, the owner has information about the remaining energy in the battery at any time, the immobilizer blocks the bike from theft, and the GPS records the route traveled.
For customers. who pre-ordered this bike, it will cost $1,999, and once serial production is established, it will cost twice as much.
A percentage of Delfast California’s income will be directed to Ukraine’s fight against racist invaders.
