The Ukrainian Navy demonstrated a “gun truck” with a 2M-3M anti-aircraft gun during exercises (photo)

And for the first time since the full-scale war, our navy showed Island boats and their current weapons

The Ukrainian Navy reported that it had fired using coastal anti-aircraft artillery and onboard weapons of the ship and boat fleet.

It is noted that this format of combat training helps our sailors, in particular, to effectively destroy cruise missiles and kamikaze drones of the racists, which can fly to the target from the Black Sea. And if we look at the photos that accompany this message, we can see several interesting details at once.

The first of them is an anti-aircraft “gun-truck” with a 2M-3M 25 mm caliber gun. At first glance, it looks like a wartime mobilization improvisation. But it seems that this is actually the same vehicle that the Navy first showed back in 2021 during exercises to protect Ochakiv from enemy saboteurs.

The 2M-3M anti-aircraft gun has a “passport” range of up to 7.5 km and a target engagement height of up to 2.5 km, and was installed on almost all Soviet warship designs. However, due to the non-standard 25 mm caliber and all the nuances that come with it, including ammunition, the production of “gan-trucks” with such anti-aircraft guns in the Ukrainian Defense Forces looks like a forced exception rather than the rule.

Moreover, during the same exercises, the Navy also “spotted” one or two Island patrol boats (whose identification has become difficult, with tactical numbers and names removed from the ships’ sides). And as we can see, these boats also use 2M-3M anti-aircraft guns as their main weapon.

It is likely that the shields on these ships’ artillery installations were installed during the full-scale invasion. Other visual differences on the Island project boats compared to the pre-war period are not noticeable in the photo from the Navy’s press service.
