The United Kingdom was so active in aiding Ukraine that it lacked its own planes

Therefore, London was forced to ask for an additional “aircraft” from one of its Pacific allies.

The New Zealand Ministry of Defense has reported that their C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft has returned home after a 60-day stay in the UK.

This New Zealand “aircraft” was involved in delivering military aid to Ukraine. In two months, the plane performed 62 flights, transported 92 people and 256 tons of cargo, according to the portal Defense Brief.

This seemingly insignificant news reveals an interesting trend: the United Kingdom has been delivering military aid to Ukraine so actively for the past two months that London simply lacked its own transport planes. Therefore, we had to attract transport ‘board’ from New Zealand as a Pacific ally within the British Commonwealth.

According to The Military Balance for 2021, the United Kingdom had 14 C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, 20 A400M aircraft and 8 C-17 Globemaster aircraft, and New Zealand had 5 C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.
