The United States provides a new package that includes armored vehicles, demining equipment and HARM
This is literally invaluable assistance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is needed here and now to continue the counteroffensive
On June 27, 2023, the Pentagon announced that the White House had allocated the 41st military aid package to Ukraine worth $500 million. It is noted that this package includes, in particular, 30 Bradley armored personnel carriers and 25 Stryker armored vehicles (without details on the modification), an unspecified number of TOW ATGMs and guided missiles for M142 HIMARS, and an unspecified number of Stinger MANPADS and anti-aircraft missiles for Patriot.
In addition, the United States is transferring an unspecified number of 105-mm and 155-mm artillery rounds, AT-4 anti-tank grenade launchers, Javelin ATGMs and other (unnamed) types of anti-tank missiles, small arms and 22 million rounds of ammunition and grenades to Ukraine in this aid package.
Interestingly, this aid package also includes air weapons – an unknown number of JDAM guided bombs and AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missiles, which is especially important in the context of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ efforts to “mow down” the Rashid’s air defense.
But perhaps the most important items in this aid package are “explosive munitions and obstacle overcoming systems,” in other words, demining systems such as the M58 MICLIC, or other engineering equipment to combat the Rashid minefields.
No less important items in this aid package are control and diagnostic equipment for repair and maintenance of equipment, spare parts, generators and other field equipment, thermal imaging systems and night vision devices.
In general, the above-mentioned range of supplies can be characterized as literally invaluable assistance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is needed “here and now” to continue the counteroffensive.
