The United States sent the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Raegan with the destroyer USS Shoup, missile cruisers USS Robert Smalls and USS Antietam to the Republic of Korea

Another US aircraft carrier visits the Republic of Korea. This time, the US Navy sent the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) there.

An aircraft carrier strike group led by the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) visited the Busan base on October 12, 2023. The last time the ship was in the country was last fall. At the same time, the last US aircraft carrier to visit the Republic of Korea was the USS Nimitz (CVN 68).

The carrier group, in addition to the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), includes two missile cruisers: USS Antietam (CG 54) and USS Robert Smalls (CG 62). In addition, they were joined by the guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86).

The press release says that the American sailors will have a chance to strengthen relations with the South Korean people ashore. The US Navy has also planned events in honor of the 248th birthday of the military service.

And while the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) is visiting the Republic of Korea, the US Department of Defense has sent two aircraft carriers to the Eastern Mediterranean. USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) is already in the region and will soon be joined by USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) will soon follow.
