The United States will replace Bradleys handed over to Ukraine with a new version of BMPs

The United States intends to replace each Bradley infantry fighting vehicle that has been transferred to Ukraine with a new version of this equipment. It will be equipped with active protection. This was reported by the Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems on Facebook.
The U.S. Army received funding to purchase a new version of the Bradley, the M2A4E1, for each such BMP that was donated to Ukraine.
The M2A4E1 Bradley version was unveiled last week in Maine. The M2A4E1 is the most modern and survivable version of the Bradley thanks to the integration of the Iron Fist active defense system. This version of the BMP also has an improved gunner’s sight and climate control for the troops.
The Iron Fist active defense system was developed in Israel. It is designed to protect vehicles from anti-tank missiles and rocket-propelled grenades. The system tracks potential threats using radar and then destroys missiles fired at the equipment.
