The US Air Force sent a squadron of fifth-generation F-22 Raptor fighters to Estonia

The US Air Force has deployed fifth-generation F-22 Raptor fighters to Estonia as part of efforts to provide air support to NATO’s Eastern Flank. The squadron of aircraft was deployed to Ämari Air Base on May 8, 2023.

At the beginning of last month, the US Air Force deployed 12 F-22 Raptor fighters to Poland. The planes took off from the Langley-Eustis base and arrived at the Powidz base in Poland. Now the fifth generation fighters will be deployed in Estonia as well. The Emari base is located near Tallinn.

F-22 Raptors will help deter aggression in the Baltic Sea region. The deployment of fighter jets in Europe underscores the operational readiness of coalition forces to respond to emerging threats and ensure the protection of NATO territory.

The US Air Force press service reminds that fourth-generation Eurofighter Typhoon fighters of the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom have already been deployed in Estonia. In addition, Spanish NASAMS air defense systems have been installed in Latvia.
