The USA imposed sanctions against the Iranian drone manufacturer Shahed and their suppliers to the Russian Federation
The persons who supplied the Wagner Group with kamikaze drones, as well as those responsible for the development and production of UAVs, came under the restrictions of the US Treasury.
The US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on the Iranian company Shahed Aviation Industries, which is responsible for the development and production of Shahed-136 kamikaze drones used by the Russian Armed Forces in the war against Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the American agency on Wednesday, November 16.
In particular, the following were sanctioned by the US Treasury:
- Shahed Aviation Industries is a company that developed and manufactures Shahed-136 kamikaze drones;
- Success Aviation Services FZC and i Jet Global DMCC — companies supplying drones from Iran to the Russian Federation;
- Abbas Jum and Tigran Srabionov are responsible for providing the Wagner Group with kamikaze drones.
Sanctions include the blocking of assets in the United States and a ban on serving the interests of sanctioned persons by American companies or citizens.
“As we have repeatedly demonstrated, the United States is determined to impose sanctions against people and companies that support Russia’s unjustified invasion of Ukraine. Today’s measures are designed to bring to justice those who allowed Russia to use Iranian UAVs against the civilian population of Ukraine,” Finance Minister Janet commented on the decision Ellen.
We will remind, according to the representative of the White House, John Kirby, Iran takes a direct part in the war against Ukraine, supplying the Russian troops with kamikaze drones, with the help of which the Russian Armed Forces attack infrastructure objects, in particular energy.
