The world’s fastest SSD: Phison announces a new product
Phison has announced several new products, including the PS5026-E26 Max14um Gen5 M.2 2280 SSD for the PCIe Gen 5 connector. It will be presented at CES and will be available in 2024.
This drive delivers a maximum sequential read and write speed of up to 14,000 megabytes per second, which is about a third faster than other top-of-the-line models. The controller uses a proprietary Phison E26 controller and Micron multilayer NAND memory with a bandwidth of 2400 MT/s.
The drive needs radiator cooling, otherwise it can overheat and reduce performance. This limits the scenarios of its use, since there is usually no space for a radiator in laptops.
The PS5026-E26 Max14um Gen5 will be available and priced early next year at CES 2024.
