The world’s first “smart” mine UCA made its debut at EDEX-23
The UCA smart mine made its debut at the EDEX’23 exhibition event in Istanbul. It consists of a Gokce winged module, a Mk-84 bomb, and a computer unit. A special coating makes the mine invisible to radar.
The developers claim that the UCA is equipped with an intelligent target detection device and a mine launcher. This allows it to participate in offensive operations. A mine can travel a huge distance from the launch point. The latest technologies enable UCA to hit the target with extreme precision.
An F-1 aircraft will act as a carrier of the “smart” mine. In addition, it can be launched from Aksungur and Akinci drones. They will be dropping mines at high altitude. Due to this, UCA will not be afraid of low- and medium-altitude air defense systems.
The smart munition is also safe in the water environment. Thanks to the radio-absorbing coating, it is invisible to radar. A mine can lie on the bottom waiting for a target ship. It is equipped with acoustic, magnetic anomaly, vibration, and pressure sensors.
