The XPeng flying car went on road tests

Chinese electric car maker XPeng has put its flying car to road tests. Its debut show took place in 2016, and not so long ago the company filed a patent for development.

Unlike similar projects of other companies, the XPeng flying car is a car. And not a small helicopter or plane, such as the AirCar of the Slovak company Klein Vision.

Judging by the spy photos of the camouflaged prototype, when driving on the ground, it is almost no different from ordinary cars. The only thing that many simply do not pay attention to – a large ‘trunk’ on the roof. Screws and rotors are hidden in it, decomposing they turn the car into a helicopter.

It is expected that the serial version of its flying car XPeng will show in 2024. It will cost about 1 million yuan. At today’s exchange rate, this is about 150 thousand US dollars.
