The popularity of electric cars in Ukraine has never been as high as it is now. Even despite the nuances with electricity and fan outages, Ukrainians continue to actively buy electric cars. Statistics show this. However, priorities have changed somewhat – now buyers are increasingly looking towards affordable cars with the largest range.
If we talk about new electric cars, of course, the largest assortment is from Chinese manufacturers. Some of them cost as much as a mid-range internal combustion engine, but can cover 300 km or even 400 km on a single charge. TopZhyr analyzed the segment of budget (relatively) electric cars and identified the TOP-5 cheapest electric cars with the largest range.
Volkswagen e-Lavida
Despite belonging to a German brand, this sedan is typically Chinese. In Ukraine, you can buy such an electric car for an average of $20,000. The car is quite spacious and functional, and it looks very decent. However, the range of the Volkswagen e-Lavid cannot be called outstanding – 278 km. In reality, of course, it will be less (judging by the reviews, at best 200 kilometers). And this is logical, because the battery capacity is small – 38 kWh.
Geely Emgrand GSe
One of the indisputable advantages of this Geely electric car is the body type – a crossover. Since our people are very fond of SUV cars, the increased ground clearance and high seating position of this car will appeal to many. And the declared range is not bad – 353 km. The battery capacity is 52 kWh. As for the price, you can find such a car for $22-23 thousand. However, it is problematic to find a car in stock, usually only on order (waiting time – 2-3 months). Considering the situation in the country, this is definitely a minus – few people will want to wait so long, and even with a subscription.
BYD YUAN PRO
Like the Geely electric crossover, the BYD model (correctly read Bee Wai Dee, although people say both Bid and Bud) belongs to the class of compact SUVs. Unlike Geely Emgrand GSe, BYD YUAN PRO can be purchased in Ukraine. That is, there are cars available. I have money – I came and bought it. For how much? $23,500 is the price tag indicated by the 4 Wheels electric car dealership. According to BYD’s factory specifications, the Byd Yan Pro has a range of 401 km. The battery capacity is 50.1 kWh.
Honda M-NV
Honda’s electric crossover is manufactured in China in a joint venture with Dongfeng. The model is built on the same platform as the HR-V compact SUV. Clearance – 160 mm. The battery capacity is 61.3 kWh, which provides a very good range of 480 kilometers. You can buy a Honda M-NV in Ukraine for $27-28 thousand. And in this case, the price is probably the biggest drawback of electric Honda.
BYD E2
In terms of range and cost, the BYD E2 electric car can be considered the most profitable, at least among those that can be bought in Ukraine not by order. Yes, the car without mileage, but already “on the numbers” costs $21,900 (and no additional payments). And most importantly, despite its affordability, this hatchback can travel up to 405 km on a single charge. As for size and comfort, despite the visual compactness, the interior is spacious, after all, as is the trunk.
