Toyota presented a budget sedan for $15,000

The Toyota Yaris sedan is noticeably larger than the hatchback and has a large 476-liter trunk. The budget model is quite equipped, and then its hybrid version will appear.

The Toyota Yaris 2022 line-up was supplemented by a new Ativ sedan. The budget model will go on sale by the end of the year at a price of $15,000 to $19,400. This is reported on the official website of Toyota.

The new Toyota Yaris Ativ was developed in cooperation with Daihatsu. The sedan is built on a simplified version of the TNGA platform, which is also used by the Toyota Yaris hatchback. The car is noticeably larger than its siblings.

Toyota Yaris Ativ dimensions:

  • Length — 4425 mm
  • Width — 1740 mm
  • Height — 1480 mm
  • The wheelbase is 2620 mm

In addition, the four-door version is strikingly different in design. It has a sloping arched roof and relief sides. The front part is made in the spirit of the older Toyota Corolla: wide radiator grilles are combined with elongated diode headlights.

A digital instrument panel has appeared in the cabin, but a large 8- or 9-inch touch screen (depending on the model version) is placed in the central panel. The volume of the trunk is 476 liters.

The basic sedan Toyota Yaris Ativ received keyless access, ESP, 6 airbags and air conditioning. The top version adds a leather interior, climate control, a rear view camera, and adaptive cruise control. In addition, the most expensive version provides for automatic braking, control of markings and ‘blind’ zones.

The new Toyota Yaris Ativ debuted with a 1.2-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 94 hp, which consumes an average of 4.3 l/100 km. Later, an even more economical 116 hp hybrid modification will be added. All versions are equipped with a variator.
