Turkey begins testing “secret” combat UAV Anka-3

Turkish Aerospace Industries has started new tests of the latest Anka-3 UAV. The video of the “secret” drone was published on the X-account of the Turkish media outlet GDH Defense.

The combat drone was tested by TAI engineers on the runway. Apparently, the tests were intended to check the operation of the landing gear, flaps, steering system and other structural elements of the UAV.

The test results were not disclosed to GDH Defense journalists. At the same time, they shared the technical characteristics of the device with the public:

  • Takeoff weight: 6,5 т.
  • Payload: 1,2 т.
  • Speed: 857 km/h.
  • Ceiling: 12 km.
  • Autonomy: 10 hours.

The drone is designed as a “flying wing”. It is characterized by low radar visibility. Visually, the Anka-3 looks like a B-2 Spirit stealth missile carrier. Satellite communications can be used to control the drone.

Super Lightning missile

The new Turkish drone is a carrier of Super Lightning missiles. They are suitable for striking both air and ground targets.
