Turkey grants NATO access to S-400 radar for study

Ankara deployed the 91H6 radar to ensure security at the NATO summit. This is evidenced by the photos that appeared on the global network.

So far, the S-400 systems purchased from Russia have never been used by official Ankara to ensure security at NATO events. It is known that before the summit in Vilnius, NASAMS and Patriot air defense systems were deployed. There is no publicly available data on the integration of Russian radar with them.

It is likely that NATO experts have already studied the 91H6 radar in detail. It is easy to guess that the data on its work will eventually be transferred to the Armed Forces. This will allow the Ukrainian military to more effectively engage enemy air defense.

91H6 is designed for early target detection. It can detect ballistic missiles at a distance of up to 230 km. The range of detection of aerodynamic targets can reach 390 km. The 91H6 radar detects strategic bombers at a distance of up to 570 km.
