Turkish Canik M2 machine guns supplied to Ukraine in hundreds: what is known about them (photo)

On October 2, Ukrainian troops received about 600 Canik M2 QCB heavy machine guns from the Turkish private arms company Canik. This weapon can be used both in infantry units and on armored vehicles.

According to some reports, these machine guns have already arrived in Kyiv and are being used by intelligence units. However, in the future, Ukrainian soldiers will receive even more Canik M2s.

Observers write that, according to Turkish experts, the cost of one machine gun is in the range of 15-20 thousand dollars, which means that the cost of the first batch of machine guns is more than 10 million dollars.

What you need to know about Canik M2 QCB

The Canik M2 QCB machine gun has a caliber of 12.7 mm and an effective range of up to 1830 meters. It can be used stationary or mounted on vehicles as a remotely controlled weapon system.

Turkish engineers were inspired by the famous Browning M2 when creating the machine gun, but compared to the combat veteran, the Canik M2 has a number of significant improvements.
