Twice as good: the Ukrainians modified the SHARK drone for the Armed Forces and showed the changes

The Ukrainian company Ukrspecsystems renewed the reconnaissance drone SHARK. She revealed the changes on her Twitter page.

The updated UAV SHARK received larger wings with a span of 3.4 m, as well as a more powerful battery. Such modifications increased the flight time from two to four hours — now the drone can conduct reconnaissance and adjust artillery fire on the battlefield twice.

“It is such updated SHARKs that will be delivered to the Armed Forces. This is an advantage in the war and the lives of our soldiers are saved,” Ukrspecsystems representatives said.

SHARK is a Ukrainian aviation complex, each of which includes three drones and catapults. The drones have received a communication system protected from radio-electronic warfare — it transmits a video signal as FullHD at a distance of up to 60 km. The aircraft will allow the soldiers of the Armed Forces to conduct reconnaissance of the territory controlled by the Russian troops, being at a safe distance.

Characteristics of the SHARK drone after modification:

  • Wingspan: 3.4 m
  • Communication range: 60 km
  • Flight duration: more than 4 hours
  • Maximum flight speed: 150 km/h
  • Deployment time: 15 min

Earlier it was written that Ukrspecsystems developed a mobile control point for SHARK drones, placing the equipment inside a Terrastorm all-wheel drive bus manufactured by Torsus. Two operators can control the UAV from comfortable seats using controllers and displays that transmit images from cameras. In addition, the military will be able to recharge the batteries in the vehicles to relaunch depleted SHARKs without returning to base.
