Twitter has launched a limited public test of editing mode

A post on Twitter’s blog shows a screenshot of the modified tweet. The company launched a test of the mode of editing the message after it was published. Future testing of the edit mode was announced back in April.

“The given screenshot looks like an edited tweet. Because that’s what he is, and in the near future you will be able to see more of them.”

In the test mode, tweets can be edited several times within 30 minutes after publication. When editing is complete, a special mark and editing time will appear at the bottom. Clicking on the mark will show the edit history.

Initially, a limited group of users will be allowed to test the feature. Later this month, this option will be available to Early Access subscribers in one of the countries. Then the geographical coverage of the test will be expanded.

“We’ll also be paying close attention to how this feature affects the way people read, write and interact with Tweets.”

Twitter has not announced a launch date for the edit to everyone, but promises to share more news soon. It is not known how the final mode will differ from the test mode.

Twitter is also testing podcasts.
