Ukraine has asked Israel to sell the Iron Dome missile defense system

Ukraine is ready to buy the Iron Dome missile defense system (ISD) from Israel and asks the country’s authorities to facilitate this.

This was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk.

“I want the Israeli government to step out of its comfort zone and return to reality. We need Israel’s help. I mean, we need military-technical support, we need the Iron Dome,” – Korniychuk said.

Korniychuk noted that it was a purchase, not a donation. According to the ambassador, the “Iron Dome” is not a weapon, but “an instrument that will save the lives of civilians.” The diplomat believes that “on the moral side, Israel should become part of the rest of the Western world and help Kyiv by all possible means.”

He also asked Israel to sign the transfer of its Spike SR anti-tank missile system from Germany to Ukraine.

“Last week, as far as I know, the Americans gave permission for the transfer of missiles from Germany to Ukraine, but Israel said no,” – Korniychuk said./blockquote>

Ambassador Korniychuk stressed that this is not the only example of Israeli authorities refraining from helping. For example, Ukraine requested protective helmets and life jackets and received about 10% of the amount requested.

Israel was also asked to accept ex-servicemen who had their limbs amputated to install prostheses, but the country delayed. Korniychuk also stressed that the war in Ukraine is hardly covered in the media.

“The people of Israel show love and sympathy for us. The government is also sympathetic to the statements, but when it comes to action, it is something else,” – the ambassador said.

Nevertheless, he noted that he was grateful to the citizens, companies and organizations that have been helping Ukraine since the first day of the war and for the humanitarian aid provided by Israel.

“Israel does not owe anything to Ukraine. We do not ask you for help. We believe that morally, Israel should join the rest of the Western world and help Ukraine by all possible means,” – the ambassador said.
