Ukraine plans to create its own analog of the Upwork platform for IT freelancers – MinCycle

Ukraine plans to create its own analog of the well-known freelance exchange Upwork to support the country’s IT industry. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov during a meeting with the European Business Association, according to Business Censor.

Fedorov noted that the government is working on the project together with several IT clusters in Ukraine. The new platform will help unite Ukrainian IT companies looking for orders and allow them to attract international clients by offering guarantees from the state.

Currently, Upwork Global Inc. is one of the leading American freelance marketplaces founded in 2013 and headquartered in Santa Clara and San Francisco, California. The Ukrainian project is intended to become an alternative to this platform, adapted to the needs of the local market.
