Ukraine prepares to open one of its civilian airports

One of the civilian airports may be opened in Ukraine before the war is over. This possibility was stated by the head of the presidential office during a speech at the Hudson Institute as part of his trip to the United States, Ekonomichna Pravda reports.

In his speech, Yermak did not name the airport or a specific time frame for its opening.

At the same time, according to UP sources, it is a city in western Ukraine. They are preparing to open the airport before the war ends.

Also, during this speech, the issues of strengthening Ukrainian air defense were discussed. After all, obviously, after the opening, the airport will immediately become a target for the Russian occupiers, and the West of our country is not sufficiently protected.

“Ukraine needs a reliable umbrella. We are already working on this with our partners.” “This is a sign that a turning point in the war is approaching. Next year will be crucial in this regard,” emphasized Yermak.

It is not yet known whether the airport is really being prepared to be opened to civilians, as the president’s office is known for its populist and untrue statements. But, if true, this would facilitate greater passenger traffic between Ukraine and Western countries, especially given the current difficult situation on the Ukrainian-Polish border, where Polish carriers, provoked by Kremlin propagandists, are blocking Ukrainian checkpoints.

A reminder:

Civil aviation flights in Ukraine were completely shut down on February 24, 2022.

Earlier, the airports in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, and Uzhhorod were mentioned as possible locations for flights.
