Ukraine returns fines for trading without cash registers

Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Danylo Hetmantsev said that on October 1, fines for trade without cash registers will be returned to Ukraine
Hetmantsev said this in a commentary to Ukrainian Radio.

According to him, entrepreneurs who do not use payment transaction recorders or software payment transaction recorders (PTRs/PTRs, “cash registers”) from October 1 will face heavy fines.

“As for taxpayer audits, I would like to address trade enterprises regarding the installation of cash registers. Starting October 1, large fines will be introduced for failure to install these devices. Inspections of cash registers have been resumed,” Hetmantsev emphasized.

It is noted that the State Tax Service will impose a fine on each transaction without fiscalization.

“The amount of the fine depends on the amount of the check and the number of violations detected. First violation: 100% of the amount of the sale of goods, works or services committed with violations. Second and subsequent violations: 150% of the amount of the sale of goods, works or services made with violations,” the statement said.

As a reminder, on 26 February, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Bill 8401, which abolishes the 2% tax on individual entrepreneurs and restores inspections for some entrepreneurs. Those who previously used the simplified taxation system will now pay mandatory payments at a rate of 5%. These changes came into force on August 1.
