Ukraine to launch production of state-of-the-art NATO-standard grenade launchers

German defense technology startup Dynamit Nobel Defense (DND) is exploring the possibility of producing Panzerfaust 3 grenade launchers in Ukraine. The company’s representative told the Hartpunkt media outlet, Militarnyi reports.

The relevant agreements were reached as part of a cooperation agreement signed on February 17 between the German arms manufacturer and the Ukrainian state-owned Ukrainian Defense Industry (Ukroboronprom).

The DND representative noted that the first step in establishing cooperation will be to find out the possibilities for launching the necessary facilities in Ukraine. According to him, initially, the final assembly of the grenade launcher could have been carried out at a Ukrainian enterprise using spare parts delivered from Germany. At the second stage, it is possible to set up licensed production of Panzerfaust 3 in Ukraine.

In addition, the company specializes in the development and production of communication and situational awareness systems, armored elements for armored personnel carriers, and fire extinguishing systems for various purposes.

It is noted that hand-held grenade launchers manufactured by this German company, Dynamit Nobel Defense, have already been transferred to the Ukrainian Defense Forces as part of international military assistance.

The German Panzerfaust 3 hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher consists of a fire control unit and a disposable launcher. For its part, the fire control unit includes folding grips, trigger and safety mechanisms, a folding shoulder rest and a telescopic sight.

The grenade launcher fires rocket-propelled grenades with a monoblock or tandem warhead. The Panzerfaust 3 also has a multipurpose grenade with a penetrating fragmentation warhead that detonates with a slight delay after penetrating an obstacle, thereby ensuring the destruction of enemy manpower behind cover.

Earlier, we told you that German developers have created a unique space radar that detects a record number of military threats. The German Experimental Space Surveillance and Tracking Radar (GESTRA) was designed by the Fraunhofer Institute for High Frequency Physics and Radar Technology (FHR) on behalf of the German Aerospace Center (NAC). Testing of the system started in December 2023.
