Ukraine will fine for using red turn signals

In Ukraine, drivers can get a fine for red turn signals. According to the rules, both the front and the rear must be yellow.

This was written by Road Advocate.

In particular, the requirements for the color of directional signs are specified in clause 6.1.5 of DSTU 3649:2010. It means that both front and rear turn signals in a car must be yellow. This requirement has been in effect since 2017.

Pursuant to subpara. 9.1.a of the SDA, turn signals are warning signals. At the same time, according to part 2 of Article 122 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, “the use of warning signals and their re-equipment in violation of the requirements of the relevant standards is subject to a fine of UAH 425.”

It is worth noting that there are a large number of cars in Ukraine with red “turn signals”. In particular, these are cars manufactured for the US market and then imported to Ukraine.
