Ukrainian Air Defense Destroys Two More Russian Attack Helicopters in 1.5 Days
The Air Force reports that over the course of June 17 and early June 18, air defense forces destroyed two Russian Ka-52 attack helicopters, four Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones, and one Lancet. We also have seven reconnaissance drones of the Orlan-10, Orlan-30, Zala and Supercam types. In total, 2 helicopters and 12 drones were used in a day and a half.
Particular attention should be paid to the detail of two destroyed Ka-52s in a day and a half, as this may indicate several positive details important for the development of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
During a week of active fighting, our defenders destroyed four Ka-52s at once. And this may indicate that at least some “sketches” have already been developed for tactics to “reach” and shoot down racist helicopters that try to operate at the maximum range of guided missiles (i.e., up to 10 km) and thus avoid the area of our air defense.
If at least one Ka-52 was destroyed at night, it confirms the fact that the Russian occupiers are trying to hit our troops with their helicopters, but it also shows that the Armed Forces seem to have some preliminary developments on how to counter this threat. And the less the rashists are able to “safely” use their army aviation, the more opportunities open up for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to move forward more rapidly during the counteroffensive.
However, these positive achievements will still need to be translated into a regular systematic approach, which will result in the number of downed Russian helicopters exceeding 302.
