Ukrainian Air Force confirms that on May 13 it destroyed 5 targets in Russia using MIM-104 Patriot SAM (video)

On May 13, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat reported that five enemy air targets were shot down in the Bryansk region. As it turned out, Ukrainian air defense was involved in the incident.

What is known

The Ukrainian Air Force has published a video showing the calculation of the MIM-104 Patriot air defense system. According to the markings on the body of the system, it was this system that shot down 5 airborne aircraft. This includes one Su-34 fighter, one Su-35S fighter, two rare Mi-8MTPR-1 air defense helicopters and one Mi-8 helicopter.

By the way, in total, this SAM system destroyed more than 30 enemy air targets, including hypersonic/aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 “Kinzhal”.

For those who don’t know

The MIM-104 Patriot is an American surface-to-air missile system developed by Raytheon. It consists of an air interceptor missile and a high-performance radar system. Currently, Ukraine has two divisions of MIM-104 Patriot air defense systems in service.
