Ukrainian Air Force shoots down Kalibr missile from man-portable air defense system

During the night attack, a Kalibr cruise missile was shot down by a mobile fire team.

This was stated by the spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ilya Yevlash, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“During a night attack by Russian Federation, a Kalibr missile was shot down by a mobile fire team. This is not the first time that our mobile fire teams have shown outstanding results in protecting our skies. Sometimes they use Stinger MANPADS or other models provided to us,” Yevlash said.

The Air Force spokesperson also noted that during the attack, the Russians tried to launch missiles and Shahideen from both the north and the south. The interval between the “Shaheds” was 10 minutes.

In addition, the Russian military is trying to use difficult terrain – ravines, gullies – to avoid our radar stations and drone detection.

“This time, we see that not all the Shaheda managed to do it – most of them were hit by our air defense forces,” added the Air Force spokesman.
