Ukrainian Armed Forces demonstrate combat use of Vulcano shells
OSINTtechnical’s X-account has posted a short video showing the combat use of Vulcano artillery shells. They are manufactured by OTO Melara in cooperation with Diehl Defense.
The order for the supply of 155-mm Vulcano shells was placed in August last year. The purchase of 255 rounds of ammunition was to be financed by EU funds and Germany.

It is worth noting that Vulcano shells are produced in two modifications. Yes, Vulcano BER belongs to the class of unguided munitions. Its flight range is 50 km. Vulcano GLR guided missiles are capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 70 km.
The video shows a PzH 2000 operator loading Vulcano BER shells with a range of 50 km. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine should also be armed with GLR guided missiles.
According to Defense Express, Germany has included 10 laser designators for the Vulcano as part of one of its defense support packages. They are needed to fire GLR shells at a distance of 70 km.
