Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy a rare Russian electronic warfare system for the first time
Svet-KU has been spotted in Ukraine three times – in 2016, 2020, and 2021 in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region. This time, the complex was discovered behind enemy lines.
For the first time, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a rare Russian electronic warfare system Svet-KU behind enemy lines. This was announced by Yaroslav Oliynyk, Advisor to the Minister for Strategic Industries.
He said that Svet-KU has been spotted in Ukraine three times – in 2016, 2020, and 2021 in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region. This time, the complex was discovered behind enemy lines.
According to Oliynyk, this is the first recorded destruction of Svet-KU.
The RB-636 Svet-KU, which was adopted by the Russian army in 2012, is designed to assess the electromagnetic environment, search, detect, and rapidly analyze radio radiation. The system can also monitor the situation and protect data from leaks from technical wireless communication channels.
