Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a very rare APC that was supposed to help the racists hold back the offensive

A Russian APC-80 with UMZ first hit a mine and then received an accurate “hit” from a UAV

The Ukrainian military destroyed a rather rare vehicle of the Russian occupation forces – a modified Russian BTR-80 armored personnel carrier equipped with a UMZ (Universal Mine Barrier) launcher was in the sights of our defenders.

First, a Russian armored personnel carrier hit a mine, then a Ukrainian bomb truck operator took over the vehicle and dropped a grenade from a drone.

The footage shows how the vehicle smoked after the grenade hit, then you can see the detonation of ammunition and eventually the armored personnel carrier catching fire, so the vehicle can be considered destroyed.

Destroying any enemy minefields is a crucial step today, as the Russians are actively using them to set up minefields, which are currently an important element of the Russian occupation army’s defense.

For example, to delay the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the occupiers are actively using their modern Zemlyedelie mine systems, which can allegedly cover an area of several football fields with one volley and can operate at a distance of 5 to 15 km.

For the first time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed such a vehicle around the beginning of March 2023, and it was also destroyed by dropping it from an unmanned aerial vehicle.

Another Zemlyedelie vehicle was destroyed in late June, and it was probably destroyed using a “smart munition” such as SMArt 155 or 155 BONUS, which is in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In addition, the occupiers also use the same Soviet UMZ engineering vehicles based on the ZIL-131B truck to mine the territories, and one of these systems was destroyed by an FPV drone.
