Ukrainian Armed Forces disclose details of historic destruction of Ka-52 Alligator helicopter by Javelin anti-tank missile

The day before, the Ukrainian Navy reported the destruction of a Ka-52 Alligator helicopter using a Javelin anti-tank missile. Now the Defense Forces have revealed the details.

As it turned out, the Ka-52 Alligator was destroyed on July 2, 2023. This was stated by the representative of the Joint Press Center of the Defense Forces, Captain Valeriy Shershen. The information about the helicopter’s elimination was made public a day later, after confirmation was received.

The hero of the episode is a fighter with the call sign “Mayak”, commander of a mobile anti-tank unit of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade. It is known that he has already destroyed five units of Russian armored vehicles.

The Ka-52 Alligator was shot down by the Javelin anti-tank missile system because the helicopter was flying at a low altitude, trying to hide from the air defense system. As soon as the officer saw the target, he launched and successfully hit the attack helicopter.
