Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to “break through” the Shahed’s defense system against electronic warfare

The Ukrainian military managed to find weaknesses in the Kometa-M system. It is used by the occupiers to protect against electronic warfare of Shahed-136 drones and corrected bombs. This was reported to journalists by Ivan Pavlenko, who heads the General Staff’s Electronic Warfare Department.

Details

According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have learned to counteract the Kometa system. The confrontation between Russia and Ukraine in the field of radio electronics continues. It is possible that the occupiers will come up with a new way to protect barrage ammunition and UMPC bombs.

It is worth reminding that the CRPA antenna of the Kometa-M was discovered in the advanced Shahed-136. Iranian “purebred” drones do not have such EW protection. The Russian defense industry borrowed the Kometa-M from the Orlan-10 UAV. Until recently, the defense system significantly hampered the operation of Ukrainian electronic warfare equipment used to suppress UAVs, but the Ukrainian military managed to find vulnerabilities in it.
