Ukrainian Armed Forces receive AGEMA amphibious ground drone to be tested at the front (photo)
“Ukrainian Armor has delivered an AGEMA robotic platform to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for further testing on the front line.
This was reported by Defense Express.
The developer of this platform is Milanion from the United Arab Emirates, and Ukrainian Armor is a supplier with its own technical improvements. According to Bohdan Petriv, acting chief designer of Ukrainian Armor, the main purpose of the test is to check the AGEMA’s performance under different conditions at the front. The military will evaluate and decide whether improvements can be made in Ukraine or whether it is necessary to turn to Milanion partners for these changes.
Petriv adds that AGEMA has the ability to install various types of weapons, but the military is currently testing the platform without weapons. However, future tests with weapons are possible to determine the need for specific weapons, such as machine guns, anti-personnel weapons, or anti-tank systems.
The AGEMA robotic system has amphibious capabilities and its control system is designed for use on the front line. The AGEMA platform was presented during the Arms and Security 2021 exhibition. In August 2021, Ukrainian Armor became a dealer of AGEMA ground drones from Milanion.
The system’s characteristics include a weight of 602 kilograms, a 40 hp internal combustion engine, and a load of up to 622 kilograms on land. AGEMA can move on land at speeds of up to 29 km/h and on water at speeds of up to 5 km/h. The platform is designed to perform a variety of missions, including logistics support, reconnaissance, casualty evacuation, UAV launch, anti-drone warfare, communications, and humanitarian missions.
