Ukrainian Armed Forces show a “collection” of Western-style grenades (video)
The Ukrainian Defense Forces received a variety of grenades for various purposes from Western countries. One of the soldiers showed his “collection” of foreign-made grenades on YouTube. It included Bulgarian, Russian, American, French, German, and Finnish ammunition.
The first grenade in the “collection” was a high-explosive fragmentation grenade OF 37 made in France. It was developed in the 1930s. The French army used OF 37 grenades after WWII along with the DF 37.
The soldier then demonstrated a German DM51A2 grenade, an American M67, and Soviet grenades.
The German DM51A2 grenade belongs to the class of universal grenades. It can be used both in offensive and defensive combat operations. To change the purpose of the ammunition, the additional shield must be removed from it.
The American M67 grenade belongs to the class of offensive ammunition. It was developed in 1975 as a replacement for the obsolete Mk2 grenade. The range of M67 fragments can reach 25 meters.
Along with this, the Ukrainian military’s “collection” includes Bulgarian GHO-1 and RGD-5 grenades, as well as the Finnish M/50 Sirpalekasikranaatti. The latter belongs to the class of defense ammunition. The grenade was developed by Finnish specialists on the basis of a 50-mm mine casing.
The “collection” also includes a Russian-made Zorya-3 stun grenade. It is designed to temporarily suppress a person’s mental and physical stability by means of light and sound effects.
