Ukrainian Armed Forces show rare video of Switchblade 300 kamikaze drones being used
Ukraine’s defense forces have been using American Switchblade 300 kamikaze drones for almost a year now. However, videos of these munitions are still rare.
The use of Switchblade 300s first became known in late May 2022, about two months after the official announcement of the barrage munitions in the military aid package. At that time, two short videos appeared within a short interval.
First, the Armed Forces showed a video shot on the camera of the kamikaze drone itself. Later, footage of the launcher appeared. The new video demonstrates both the launch of the Switchblade 300 and the destruction of targets.
The barrage munition was developed by the American company AeroVironment. It weighs 2.5 kg and can reach a speed of 100 km/h in flight and 160 km/h in attack. The cost of one kamikaze drone is $6000.
