Ukrainian Armed Forces start using “Oberig” system against Russian attack drones

A serviceman of the 68th separate hunting brigade managed to shoot down three Russian kamikaze UAVs using the Ukrainian-made Oberig system. This follows from a video posted on Telegram. In it, the fighter first shows the anti-drone system to the camera, and the field demonstrates the results of its work.

According to the developer’s website, the Oberig system is designed to jam signals coming from an input source. This approach helps to avoid unforeseen obstacles.

“Oberig effectively counteracts all commercial copters such as Autel, Matrice, Mavic, etc. In addition, the anti-drone system can be used to repel attacks by FPV drones of various types.

Technical characteristics:

  • Emitter power: 120 W.
  • Autonomy: 120 min.
  • Range: 2 500 м.
  • Price: UAH 147,600.

According to Serhiy “Flash”, the Oberig system belongs to the class of trench-based electronic warfare equipment. The radar expert emphasized that it should be used very carefully. The fact is that when UAV control signals are jammed, the Oberig system can give the enemy the operator’s location.
