Ukrainian battle tank Bulat withstands two hits from kamikaze drones (video)

Ukraine’s main battle tank T-64BM Bulat has withstood two hits from enemy kamikaze drones.

This is reported by the columnist TheDeadDistrict on his X (Twitter). According to the video, the tank was attacked by two kamikaze drones that hit the turret and engine compartment. The engine compartment of the tank was hit at an angle, the video shows damage to the radiators of the 5TDFM engine, judging by the fact that the combat vehicle left the dangerous area, the engine was not seriously damaged.

When the tower was hit, the Knife dynamic defense was activated, protecting it from damage.

“Militarnyi reported in August that the defense of Ukrainian tanks was being strengthened with the dynamic Knife defense, which was produced a month before the start of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.

“Knife” is a third-generation Ukrainian dynamic defense developed in 1997-1998 and adopted by the Ukrainian Army in 2003.

It occurs during the detonation of extended shaped charges (shaped knives) installed in dynamic protection units. Such impact can destroy or destabilize the attacking munition, significantly reducing its destructive characteristics. Prior to the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian army installed the Knife on T-64BM Bulat and T-84 tanks.

The dynamic protection modules “Knife” KhSCHKV-34 and KhSCHKV-19 are designed as parallelepipeds with dimensions of 250x125x36 mm or 250x125x26 mm. They weigh 2.8 kg and 2.1 kg, respectively, and have profiled cumulative knife elements inside, the total number of which reaches 7 units.
