Ukrainian FPV drone worth $500 makes a neat landing inside a T-72B and burns a Russian tank
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have demonstrated an unusual way to destroy a Russian T-72B tank. This was done by an FPV drone operator from the Magyar Birds aerial reconnaissance group.
Recently, we wrote about how an FPV drone delivered explosives to the hatch of a T-80BV tank, then flew away and filmed the detonation. This time, the unmanned aerial vehicle was used as a kamikaze. He was able to carefully lower himself inside the T-72 through the open hatch and destroy the Russian tank.
T-72s are very common on the battlefield. The most common version is the T-72B. The Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed or captured approximately 400 combat vehicles that were built in the Soviet Union.
In addition, Oryx analysts have recorded at least 238 losses of T-72B3s produced in 2016 and almost 340 older T-72B3s built after the collapse of the USSR. In total, the Russian army lost more than 1,100 T-72 tanks of various modifications in almost 19 months.
