On April 6, the test trip of the first 1435 mm Euro gauge train from Lublin to Rava-Ruska was completed.
This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia.

“The Minister of Infrastructure of Poland Andrzej Adamczyk and the Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov were on board the first flight together with the railway workers,” the press service reports.

In the future, a project to extend the European gauge directly to Lviv is being considered.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine wrote about the launch of the train.

“The launch of the connection between Warsaw, Lublin, Rava-Ruska and Lviv will meet the huge demand of Ukrainians for convenient logistics by train to and from the Polish capital, as well as relieve the congestion at automobile checkpoints. We are working to bring our countries even closer to each other,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov, Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine.

On April 5, the first train on the Lublin-Rava-Ruska route on the 1435 mm European gauge started a test run, which will run between Warsaw and Rava-Ruska with a transfer to Lviv in a few months.

Thus, for passengers, Rava-Ruska in Lviv region will become a transfer point between trains running on Ukrainian and European gauge.

It is reported that the restored railroad crossing point in Rava-Ruska has not served passengers for more than 20 years.

Ukrzaliznytsia has restored an 8.4 km section of the European gauge track and renovated the station. After the test trip, the Polish side will need several months to deploy full customs and border control.

After that, the date of the start of regular traffic will be announced.

For Easter, April 16, and the May holidays, Ukrzaliznytsia announced additional trains from Kyiv to Odesa, Lviv, Kryvyi Rih, Kovel, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.
