Ukrainian reconnaissance men move to Oncilla armored personnel carriers

The DIU (Defence Intelligence of Ukraine) received a batch of 30 modernized Oncilla armored personnel carriers. The funds for the purchase of the armored vehicles were provided by Trans Select from Poland.

According to Viktor Levchenko of the Beryl Design Bureau, the armored personnel carriers are already at the front line. They have proven themselves on the battlefield. The Oncilla is a licensed version of the Dozor-B armored vehicle developed by Ukrainian specialists. Dozor-B vehicles are assembled at the facilities of the Polish company Mista. It received the assembly license in 2013.

A lightweight module with a machine gun equipped with a 10x thermal imaging scope is mounted on the roof of the Oncilla body. The first armored vehicle was assembled by specialists from the Kyiv Armored Plant. Subsequently, Oncilla production was moved to Poland.

Last year at the Egypt Defence Expo, Mista and Beryl Design Bureau presented several new modifications of the armored personnel carrier.

The exhibition visitors were most interested in the versions for fire support and demining. The Oncilla Mk2 modification received a 90-mm cannon.
