Ukrainian SHARK drone for $100,000 helped destroy Russian Buk-M2 SAM worth $100 million

The Ukrainian Defense Forces effectively destroyed the Russian Buk-M2 anti-aircraft missile system. A Ukrainian-made drone called SHARK participated in the operation to eliminate the expensive system.

“The Buk-M2 was destroyed by the artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. A SHARK unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to the 36th Separate Marine Brigade is used to adjust fire.

The marines received the drone from the army’s Come Back Alive competent assistance fund. The organization raised $8.8 million to purchase 75 unmanned aerial vehicles (25 complexes + 25 spare drones) as part of the Eye for Eye project, which was conducted jointly with the OKKO filling station chain.

Each complex consists of two drones, meaning that the foundation has purchased 75 drones in total. This means that on average, one SHARK costs less than $120,000. In fact, the price is even lower, as the $8.8 million includes additional equipment and control stations. The cost of the Buk-M2 complex can reach $100 million.
